Concise, clear, and sure of himself, the newly introduced member of the Mass Conformity team puts all of his energy into his lyrics before punching the gas even harder into his verse. His energy remains cool and calm. Even still, it’s easy to tell the rapper is purely having fun. Raphael’s witty punchlines along with his raw energy make you want to have fun along with him, not to mention his interesting (to say the least) adlibs alone bring an entirely new sound to the song. Tony Raphael finishes with another run of the hook before his breaths lead into the crystal clear and sharp tongued, MC veteran and co-founder, Hijax. Slowly at the start, the rapper begins spitting, but it’s easy to tell there’s much more in store. After a few lines, the bass drops out completely… Coming right back in with 4 repetitive kicks and the clear sound of shattering glass, Hijax flows full throttled between quick breaths and descriptive metaphors. Humorously he raps “I could float away on clouds/or another magic carpet ride/only one is goin’ down/just hope there’s no hair in my mouth”, which could hit a lot closer to home for some more than others. The contrast between the two rappers is adamantly obvious. The two dissimilar and, at times, unconventional styles flow well together creating the newest Mass Conformity single, Puffin’.
